On Wednesday 15 October and Thursday 16 October, the city’s leading architecture firms, interior designers, urban and landscape designers are opening their doors to the public for Open Studios.
This annual two-day event invites visitors behind the scenes to explore the creative spaces where the city’s most iconic buildings, places and spaces are brought to life. Each studio experience is completely different, but visitors can expect interactive displays and the chance to meet the visionaries shaping our built environments in a relaxed and social event.
The city-wide event takes place on two nights across Cape Town’s design districts:
- Wednesday 15 October: City Bowl
- Thursday 16 October: Woodstock
Studios are open between 5pm-8pm, with most studios within walking distance, and visitors are encouraged to explore the city on foot or bicycle. Entry is free with route maps available online and at participating studios from October.
Open Studios is made possible through the support of its sponsors who share our vision of promoting architecture and design in and around the city. This year’s edition is proudly presented by tile experts Ceramica, who have collaborated with architects, designers, developers, decorators, and homeowners to create covet-worthy spaces since 1993 and Decobella, the industry’s leader in décor tile. The event is also sponsored by OWA, Modena Technologies, Lights by Linea, Selective Fans, and Cape Town Oaks.
First launched in 2013, Open Studios has grown into one of Cape Town’s most anticipated design events, providing a unique opportunity to discover and connect with the city’s dynamic design community.
Join us in celebrating the creativity that defines Cape Town this October!
