Day One opened with Graeme Labe’s vision for sustainable hospitality and Fox Browne Creative’s reminder to tread lightly yet with intent. Jack Alexander’s notion of invisible architecture caught our attention and Jacobus Uys’s call for instinctive design drew the session to a close.
Belgotex CEO, Evan Lockhart-Barker then took the stage, reaffirming the brand’s mission as our Trade Emporium Partner, before Scene Two shifted focus to time and touch. Here, Kate Otten, Nabeel Essa, and Mphethi Morojele reminded us of design’s sensory depths and its power to hold memory, culture, and connection.
Scene Three carried the day to a daring close. Director’s of TwoFiveFive Architects, Bomax, Rebel Base Collective, Hubo Studio, and Scott + Partners pushed boundaries with explorations of coastal identity, artistry, and sanctuary, reminding us that when we push the boundaries of design, excellence emerges.
